Edward Hayes has a long history of working with our local communities. Traditionally, much of this work has been based on philanthropy – it is the right thing to do and others benefit. We now have a balanced portfolio, ranging from pure charity work, for example, collecting money for charities by hosting corporate charity events, through to sophisticated sponsorship programmes that impact on many people.
The firm is only as strong as the people who work for it. We take pride in recognising that people are different and have different hopes and aspirations. Our focus is on clients and winning law cases.
To achieve this we invest in the potential of individuals and have identified a strong set of values that underpin everything we do. We also encourage our people to be responsible citizens, both towards each other and in the wider community. We are always fair and non discriminatory. We aim to be to be known as a law firm which enables all of its people (and clients) to succeed, regardless of their ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religious practice or any other perceived difference.
The firm has an excellent record of addressing environmental issues and has set up many schemes across its offices that support this aim. We take into account green issues such as our printing and waste material, travel policy, premises, purchasing and working practices - for example, we encourage the use of video conferencing whenever practicable. We have a number of recycling projects, including recycling office furniture, batteries, paper and printer toners and have been introducing new technologies, which reduce our consumption of natural resources. Our policies are under constant review.
